This seemingly unending winter has had me daydreaming about Spring a lot recently. I guess there have been some beautiful days sprinkled between the snow and rain, but all they do is make me long for a nice dinner on the patio as the sun sets, sipping red wine and discussing life with my man while the kids run around in the yard. *sigh*

Anyway, while I wait for true, consistent Spring days to arrive, I like to dream up indoor ‘picnics’ of my own. The following is my late night desert picnic. It’s great for anytime of the day, but if you have kids, it’s perfect for once they’ve fallen asleep.

What you’ll need:
-Suntouched edible massage candles. I recommend some additional candles as well, to ensure a romantic mood.

-One of your favorite pieces of lingerie. Something like this Black & Red Chiffon Baby Doll is perfect.
-A selection of fresh fruit, including chocolate covered strawberries, just cuz they’re super hot . Make sure not to select something too heavy or it’ll disrupt the ‘activities’ that should follow desert.
-A bottle of wine.
-Music is optional, but something instrumental in the background is always romantic.

To make sure you’re ready when the moment is right, prepare your fruit platter eariler in day, or the night before, and store it in the fridge. Then, once the time has approached the first thing you’ll do is get all fancied up. Put on your hot lingerie, sex up your hair and make sure your make-up is all smoldery. Next, set-up and light all your candles and get the wine glasses out. Then, go find your mate, who is probably watching TV, either in curious anticipation, or, if you’re super sneaky, completely oblivious to the fun that will ensue. Once you know where he’s at, walk past him on your way to go get the platter of desert and the bottle of wine. This will get his attention. Then walk past him again with the full platter. Stop right in front of him and ask in your sexiest, come-and-get-it way, “want some desert?” He’ll follow.

Now I’m not going to go into much detail on what will follow, because I know you’re all smart , but here are some suggestions:

-Have your lover get ‘more comfortable’ and relax on the bed. Pour him some wime and feed him your desert items.
-Ask if he’d like you to rub his shoulders. This is where the massage candle comes into play, but you can just use massage oil too.
-Relax and have fun!

If you live in one of those warm places in and have some isolation, this would be awesome outdoors too.

So, that my friends is my indoor, late night desert picnic. And, although it’s welcome fun anytime of year, for me, it’s a perfect distraction when the next April snow hits (yes, I said snow, in April…that’ what happens when you live in Minnesota).

Now go forth, get some lingerie, wine &  fruit and have some indoor picnic fun!
